Honoring Our Heroes – Black History Month 2026

Over 100 community members gathered at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5394 in Compton to honor The Greatest Generation.

We proudly recognized:

  •  SSGT Clifford E. Johnson – WWII Veteran
  • PFC Clifford L. Johnson – WWII Veteran

Representing the Montford Point Marine Association, SgtMaj Charles Cook Jr., Retired, educated the community on the powerful legacy of the Montford Point Marines and the ongoing mission of MPMA LA Chapter 8.

Distinguished guests included Emma Sharif, Ayanna Davis, the City of Compton Fire Chief & IAFF Local 2216, along with many community leaders.

MPMA LA Chapter 8 continues its commitment to service through scholarships supporting JROTC students in Fremont, Redondo Beach, Dominguez Hills, and Carson High School.

Legacy. Leadership. Community.
